Dr. Manoj K. Tripathi
works on multiphase fluid flows, especially gas-liquid and liquid-liquid flows such as bubbles, drops and jets. This includes fluids with non-Newtonian rheology, such as yield-stress and viscoelastic fluids. He has started looking into the multiphase flow dynamics with Marangoni effects, phase change and in the presence of solid boundaries. Both fundamental and applied research is conducted in his group. A part of his group is also dedicated to developing new computational methods for solving the Navier-Stokes equations for multiphase flows. This often includes an effort towards the modelling of microscopic physics and lumping it into a source term for the governing equations.
